I’m so excited to share my first wedding back from my baby hiatus! It has been so great to take things slow and get to really soak up these first few months with Chloe without a long to-do list looming over me. However, I did find that I am much more motivated to edit during Chloe’s naps and end up getting more done than I did before she was born.
Jerome & Rita are our next-door neighbors and were Chloe’s first babysitters! They moved in the day after Jeremy & I moved to Winston Salem. We were so excited to have friendly neighbors around our age that we could have over for dinners and have fire pits with. Rita is so sweet and thoughtful and Jerome always has a smile on his face. And did I mention that they are fellow cat lovers?
Jeremy and I were honored that they wanted to include us in their intimate wedding weekend. They rented out Rivers Ridge Lodge for and we got to know their family and friends from all stages of life as we all gathered to celebrate their marriage. By the end of our time in Old Fort, NC, I felt that I had left with new friends.
Most of the time Jerome and Rita were getting ready was spent checking the weather radar. Unfortunately after postponing the ceremony, they ended up getting married under a tent instead of down by the river. Everything still turned out absolutely beautiful!
Jerome: I’m not crying; the tent is leaking!
Rita gave a touching speech about it being the 50th anniversary of Loving vs Virginia and how we would not all be here today celebrating their love had it not been for people standing up for what they believe in. So even if you feel like your voice isn’t heard, the things you say and do can have a huge impact on the future.
Many congratulations, Jerome & Rita!
